Description: This cookbook is published in aid of The Hong Kong Society for the Protection of Children, which operates 16 centres providing day and residential care for 1300 Hong Kong children. It is essentially a reissue of The Honkong Cookery Book which was first published in 1919 in aid of the Hongkong Fund for Devastated France, and was reprinted in 1921 in aid of the Ministering Children's League and other local charities.
In the foreward to the 1921 edition, tribute was paid to the leading firms and hotels whose advertisements and donations made it possible for the proceeds from the sale of the book to go to charity. Now 68 years later, many of those original advertisers have contributed the full cost of printing this book. Recipes are mainly British recipes.
